Why pilots don't like to travel

The other day I got an interesting phone call (this is not Julie but her wack job brother-in-law). She suggested I be a guest blogger on her blog! Yeah I know what you're thinking, "did she forget to take her smart pill today?" I don't know but I have traveled all over the world and this is what I've found.

Where did I find this tidbit of deep thought you ask?

Happy 18th To My Precious One

Thursday Savannah celebrated her 18th birthday. We started celebrating at the beginning of the week and it has been full and fun! I am just sooo proud of her and the young lady she has become. She has had about 3 parties and we are still heading to Reynolds Plantation for spa fun and DisneyWorld for a weekend this month. I've shed tears one time and hope that's it (she was just itty bitty yesterday!). This is a birthday to remember! Happy Birthday my love!

French Essence

My blogging friend Vicki has a new book out and I am soooo excited! It is titled French Essence. She has teamed up with the superb photographer Carla Coulson once again. Their previous gorgeous book is My French Life and it lives on my coffee table. Right now the book is only available in Australia and New Zealand, but will be available in the states later this year. Vicki is a transplanted Australian who splits her time between her lovely home in the Provence region and London. Congratulations Vicki! Be sure and check out her delicious blog French Essence!

My Little Ukulele

I loved my ukulele! I don't know when my parents got me a ukulele and Leslie a small guitar, but I loved that little thing. I had a music book that told me where to place my fingers and was able to play a few little tunes. Eventually we lost the music book and all I could remember was how to tune my ukulele to "My dog has fleas...". Don't ask me where that tune comes from, it was just what you were supposed to sing to tune the strings.

Everyone always wanted to play my ukulele because it was just the perfect size to jam with.

Massachusetts is the home of the Ukulele Hall of Fame. If you would like to see my ukulele, it is in Georgia at my parents house probably being played sometimes by my sweet niece making her own memories.

Please enjoy this fun old video.
